This actually just happened to me in a chess game (unfortunately I was on the losing side of it). I had just played Kg6, with the tricky idea that if my opponent absentmindedly makes a queen I have Rh1+ and it should end in a draw. In fact, white only has a single move that wins #chess #chesspunks

In an already not-great chess position, I quickly played a6 thinking it would force a trade of my opponent’s annoying knight. But white has a much better reply than simply trading minor pieces #chess
