I first came awarw of this idea in Robert Harris' recent novel "The Second Sleep" where the title has a kind of double meaning.
Didn't realise it came from such relatively recent research. He even quotes Ekrich on the first page.

I went to grammar school.
And first of my family as far back as we can see to go to university "at all".
Several generations back live in Wolverhampton/Walsall area doing manual work of some kind or another. So to me, you are posh (in the Class sketch style 😀)

Ellen Ripley in Alien 3. Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop in The Good Place Felicity Kendal as Barbara Good from "The Good Life". I used to love watching repeats of this when I was younger. Perhaps because Penelope Keith's character dealt with her man-child sociopath husband's tantrums with grace and humour. Perhaps because Felicity Kendal is a legitimate fox and wore tight jeans. Who can say really? Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully in the X-Files. Obviously, Gillian is wonderful on her own, but Scully's character kept the show in balance. The series wouldn't have worked anywhere near as well without her wry, sceptical tones in each episode, but Anderson brought her alive to be so much more
