I saw this on Reddit first and had to reply, so I am copying it here. This is a hot button issue for me.

Those who do not learn from the experience of history are doomed to repeat it.

Someone needs to photoshop in a lightning bolt hitting him....

He is a bit of a magician.

He gets everyone worked up and watching DEI or some other rabbit and while the audience focuses on the rabbit he tells all our allies to get lost, guts Cyber Secerutiy, Defense, Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare, etc.

Ugh!

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett - I just want you to know that you are the greatest thing that has come from Texas in a long time. Texas in not a bunch of cowboys.

Texans are smart, diverse, caring and understand the issues with this corrupt government.

Please keep up the good fight!

It also helps to keep the house warm during these cold winter months.

Wise to follow Michelle's lead on this one!

The sad thing is I can only like your post and others like yours.

Nothing will come of this like.

We need to understand how this MAGA party came to be and then figure out a correct way to counter this lunacy.

Also, can we please get some more youth in the Democratic Party.

This is so true!

It was very difficult to go from vi/vim/nvim to visual studio code. The vi extension helped to smooth out the transition.

I installed Slackware in 93, but I cannot remember how many disks it was. I can't imagine it was 72...

Who knows...

You might want to give ripgrep (burntsushi.net/ripgrep/) a try. I find it very fast and a nice configurable color output.

They are probably planning to cancel Christmas next year.

Vacuousness... What a great word! I plan to slip this into several conversations today.

I am too! Keep up the great work and hang in there!

All the best.

I like the AI connection with Claude (claude.ai). I am just not sure if I want to pay $20 bucks a month.

The AI connection is not required. It is just why I am checking it out.

Best of luck!

You are spot on about the sync option in VS Code. I have followed the path below:

vi --> emacs --> vim --> VS Code.

I am now thinking about moving from VS Code to Zed (zed.dev) as I have heard good things.

It's awesome that Slackware is chugging along! I remember downloading it at work in 1993 and sneaking home early to install it. I could not really download it from home with my 300 baud modem.

Man, I am old! 😉

Wonderful picture!

It brings back memories of walking down that river.

Yeah, been there... 😓

I was running Gentoo for a while, and it was a wonderful experience in which I learned a lot. After a while, I decided I wanted to develop software more and be a sysadmin less. So I switched to Fedora.
