This is a gorgeously told, dystopian novel that should be read. Translated, this moving tale of a woman torn about leaving her few ties & fleeing the plague, all while finding reluctant, and dwindling nourishment from the strange yet ubiquitous "pink slime" food source.

Go get this fantastic reimagining of the Great Gatsby but in the 1940's Black LA community of Sugar Hill. From @crownpublishing.bsky.social & @kyradavis.bsky.social this layers racist history over a classic piece of literature in layers that were seamless and powerful. Great, indeed.

@susanchoi.bsky.social created a moving, literary masterpiece of historical family drama that shows the consequences of governments pitting people against one another. Excellent in audio: thanks @macmillanaudio.bsky.social for the access! @eunicewong.bsky.social made this book so special.

#Booksky Quirky. Moving. Annie Hartnett delivers again with her newest THE ROAD TO TENDER HEARTS. Hartnett has a way of dealing with heavy subjects in a lighter way without losing the substance that makes her stories so good. A highly recommended read from partner @prhaudio.bsky.social

#Booksky this should be on your lists as an incredibly moving look at humanity, identity, family, love, grief through the stories of robots, augmented humans, and "real" humans. Truly a book that deserves its title. Thank you @simonbooks.bsky.social @simonaudio.bsky.social #SimonBooksBuddy

My word for this is "affecting." A powerful story of the "hurt people, hurt people" adage that has just enough hope to keep doing the good in front of you. Beautiful.

A family in decline as they fight the inevitable culture shift away from their source of power. Hyper focused on women's bodies, racist, anti-Semitic, patriarchal ... familiar? #booksky @blackstonepub.bsky.social

Just a little shout out to @accuweather.com who still has the ovaries to call it what it is. Disappointed Weather Channel...who owns you?

I love how horror is so creatively used to expose our inner demons. Here a Black family of siblings contends with the sacrifices made for one another. Compelling debut from MacMillan Audio on Feb 4th! #booksky #neenaviel #ListenToYourSister

Absolutely gripping Gothic suspense with insulated wealthy, technology, revenge, politics, and a bit of a family curse thrown in for good measure. An 4.5 ⭐️ recommendation out this week! You won't know what is real and it will leave you with a nagging discomfort.

Evison has written such a moving and beautiful portrait of marriage. First infatuation/won her over, through the mundane & grief-stricken middle years, and on to the final years when deep love is tested. Out now by Dutton Publishers & @prhaudio.bsky.social who gifted me the superbly done audio.

A propulsive & deeply moving dystopian tale out January 7th from @stmartinspress.bsky.social & MacMillan Audio that encompasses the intensity of forced evacuations, balancing fear and trust from others, and finding the sprig of hope that all is never lost.
Thanks to NetGalley.
Highly recommend.

Dystopian road trip with a communicative raven and cat. A strong premise, if a bit too much Buddhist theology for a novel. Still, a unique addition to the genre. I preferred the written to the audio on this one.
