@deadlyfredly.bsky.social I'm helping a friend layout her game book because she's good people. Do you have any recommendations for a guidebook or resources on layout principles? Not software manual just general concepts to keep in mind. Thank for any rec.

With seemingly only the most ardent Libs talking about the Chicago drugstore assault, this is all feeling like a frog in boiling water situation. No one seems 2 have a huge issue w/ masked & armed men in a major U.S. city assaulting & arresting U.S. citizens based on their skin color. WHAT THE FUCK.

I actually think it's worth listening to this interview. Coates does a really great job refusing to allow Klein to frame everything as in service to politics, and instead forcing him to meet Coates on the more essential ground of morality.

It's frustrating to listen to, but also instructive.
This was revealing. Worth reading. The basic demand is that Coates spend less time thinking/writing his true feelings and more time playing political strategist. Klein asks him over and over him to do Dem strategy; he says no, over and over. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/28/o...

Where can I rant about people who hack rpgs but who are really bad it and end up making these Frankenstein games that are barely playable and no one in the group calls them out on it but I'm sitting here by my lonesome dying? Just curious...

Kirk didn't serve in the military or hold office. The war hero treatment -- half-mast flags, military guard, Air Force Two escort, calls for a statue at the Capitol or to lie in the Rotunda -- shows that for MAGA, service to Trump has become the highest, most honorable form of service.

Can you imagine if a Democrat had done this? Where is the Democratic outrage over this?? Why aren't elected leaders losing their shit? Why is the only outrage I see from social media progressives. WTF. complete psycho

Critical Role choosing to stick with D&D is a ‘shoot themselves in the foot’ moment. In the last few months since release, the groundwork was being laid for Daggerheart to benefit from a bandwagon effect. Now that’s been sabotaged and CR has told its fanbase to stay w/ D&D, it’s the safer choice.

Jim Shooter, RIP. A complicated legacy. Got Marvel back on track, oversaw a lot of great storylines. Was a homophobe, misogynist, and kind of an asshole to his people, too. So, yea, complicated...

Daggerheart's price point lowers the barrier to the game and the positive effect should not be understated. I've seen first hand new players shocked at a big core book and those beautiful cards costing so little compared to most other newer rpg products out there and it's resulting in sales.

Hey there Scott Walker. I noticed you deleted this after learning that in fact the shooter was from the right. I don’t think it matters either way, violence is violence, so I’m waiting for you to tweet the same thing with corrected facts?

Cuz you’re uh, to use your words, “being silent.”

Rachel Zegler got torn apart because Snow White bombed at the box office. Tom Cruise deserves the same treatment, right? Final Mission Impossible movie totally underperformed, is $300 million away from a breakeven for the studio and it will never get there. Where r the mean-spirited attacks on him?

I don't understand - is she out of touch or does this spin help her?
Bass giving a TERRIBLE interview on ABC right now. “I don’t think they’re insurrections because I don’t think they’re organized. It’s just random violence.”

THERE WASN’T ANY VIOLENCE BY PROTESTERS. THERE WERE PEOPLE EXERCISING THEIR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT.

Ok, seriously... why did Mercer run the first Daggerheart AoU game in such a fashion where he ignored the advice and rules of his own game? Maybe he wanted it to be less of a system shock to a 5e audience? Because I'll say don't run DH like you would D&D. Full stop. DH so much better than that.

Spenser Starke re: Daggerheart support for Foundry.

“…we’re actively working on expanding the VTT options for the game—nothing that we can announce in the immediate, but know the community’s desire for Foundry support is being heard and taken very seriously! 👍”

Putting aside any other intentions, Daggerheart is among the best rpg instruction manuals I've seen in years. Goes out of its way to teach character-focused story techniques and provide advice for those looking to tell tales on either side of the screen. Bravo and I'm seriously impressed.

A terrific (and terrible) roster of very recent administration wrongdoing. Click through for numerous posts.
I said it would get worse very quickly. By tomorrow we will have completed the most dangerous & frightening 24 hours thus far of Trump 2.0. Just to name a few:
1. Defiance of a court order by sending migrants to Sudan without due process (despite clear DP decision SCOTUS) & Dist. CT. order.

Daggerheart released today and it’s smart as hell that they released new playtest material on the same day. Really signifies to the community that they plan to support the game. Lots of hesitation among potential fans to invest time and energy into what so often turns into abandonware.
