The average cost of a Big Mac in the United States is approximately $5.15.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25.

That is absurd.

One more reason I am working on something that explores ideas in ai generated content for pragmatic devs
This can happen with any AI agent… or human developer!

A BIG difference w AI agents: they will write more code, faster than before, and ship a LOT more code to prod! So ship more bugs as well.

Software engineers (not AI engineers) will build o11y solutions to solve for this!

Maybe it’s a me thing - but the more I see AI based tools for creative content generation (e.g doodling) the more I want to start a channel where I just livestream myself doing sketchnote comics while listening to reggaeton on my headphones! I hope there’s always room for the edge cases 😁❤️

63 studies!

Begs the question- when do we stop studying and apply lessons learned? SMH
63 studies: women who assert their ideas, make direct requests, and advocate for themselves are liked less.

They're also less likely to get hired—and it hasn't improved over time.

When will we stop punishing women for violating outdated gender stereotypes?

TMW you get in a train and see a Llama and the word Monday and all you can think about is

“We need to explore Meta models on a future episode”

The best way to improve your writing is not always to write more. It's often to reread more.

Instead of just enjoying the content, study the form. Pay attention to how your favorite authors set up ideas, structure paragraphs, and shape sentences.

Role models elevate art.

Also finding myself dealing with the paradox of wanting to restore that feeling of connectedness on this network - while also dealing with the inner voice that says ‘how do we know this time will last?’

I am excited though - gives us a chance to rediscover the long tail of past networks
I can’t say I really like the idea of rebuilding my entire Twitter audience, but I do love the idea of musk learning the hard way most people will not eat a shit sandwich as long as Tesla owners.

Also good morning Toronto!! Here for the Microsoft AI Tour where I will be delivering two lab sessions on building RAG based copilots code-first on Azure AI Foundry.

It’s an advanced lab that has evolved over nearly a year with thousands of devs skilled. The best part? Conversations with community!

I first moved to Chicago over two decades ago - and one of the images that remains in my mind to this day is the sculptures that dot the downtown area - there’s a Picasso somewhere but Alexander Calder’s Flamingo will forever be my favorite! It’s grace forged with a steely backbone! Had to stop by!

Oh Chicago ❤️❤️❤️

Okay this is the day before the #MSIgnite conference and the registration line is already wrapping around a few times! Forgot what conferences of this size feel like #CommunityRocks

I’m excited now - wishing we had more time to show more cool things ❤️

Get you a hotel where you call to see if they have coffee for a late night sprint - and they deliver a Nespresso machine to your room with enough pods & creamers to power you through a couple of hours. ❤️

Sure I’ll regret it in the morning but it was good coffee

Made it to ORD and welcomed by this sign for #MSIgnite - nice! Was really happy to see the underground lighted tunnel again

Haven’t been to LGA since the renovation - but gotta say this is a vast improvement on the airport I remember
November 17, 2024 at 1:49 PM
Hey Skytalkers!! I’m headed to Chicago for #MSIgnite and hope I get to see some of you in person

Also they say you should start as you mean to go on - I work in AI but I find joy in creative things! Been using Procreate for years to illustrate in 2D but this year I want to learn animation- #001 ftw

In other news - I think I need to set this account up (again) - what are the best ways to find people you know on other networks?

Methinks I have some weekend setup to do.
