Wilson as a sad hamburger.
My dog Wilson with an inflatable collar ring that looks like he stuck his head through a giant sesame bun. White fur, rainbow socks. We have new meds, but arthritis had him licking his legs and I'd like them to heal.

The experiments. A bunch of pepper cuttings, some basil and parsley, a tomato. Varying levels of success.
9 plants in mason jars, some with sweaters or foil covering the jar. 6 are pepper plants and two are basil. One cherry tomato cutting.

I'm with the plants today. One of the tiny tim tomato plants has so many flowers on it. This was a frantic cutting from an outside plant about a month ago.

Just petting the plants bc I'm in such a foul mood. This is the shelf of audacious hope and small trust in my skills.
10 plants in various hydroponic jars on a very brightly lit shelf inside. Many pepper plants, some basil, and a sungold tomato I couldn't say goodbye to. They are in varying shapes of health, but very green with some fruiting.

Possibly the last of this type of pepper grown outside this year. Orange Lesya, but I used them green all season. Not prolific, but one is all you need for flavor and moderate to medium spice dishes.

I want a free grocery store, but until then I finally did this.

Idk why they gave him this limp pitchfork and he's just crying about it.
Jordan Peterson is very red and with teary eyes in this photo so I drew on devil horns and mustache and pitchfork, but the pitchfork is small and limp.

My tavern will be called The Spewing Turtle
Our container pond water pump is connected to a turtle statue. The water exits through its mouth into a container of water next to it. The turtle is placed on a bed of rocks and surrounded by tall grasses and some white and blue flowers.

Too tall and skinny brassica seedling. Defining leggy. I think it's kale, but could be Chinese broccoli. Small white flowers atop a spindly skinny stem with a smattering of tiny leaves in a way too small block of soil .

Mine planted with spinach, lettuce, & pak choy. @shayllou.bsky.social is right, they're starting to bolt even in part shade. I do love this planter for greens in spring, but that pepper plan will work all summer.
3'x2' wooden planter box with 3 spinach, 2 pak choy, and 4 lettuce plants. All the shades of green, plus 2 burgundy red romaine.

Needed to go to/from Madison today and took the back roads. No regrets. It was dreary, but the green just jumps out!

My brassica flat. It's my 3rd year with them, so idk. Lol they look fairly happy.

I have 47 pepper plants now, and will give away about half, which is a little more than I'd planned. Very pleased!

My first brassica cage. I had hoops last year, and they worked alright. They'll cover something else this year. My son did a lot of the building, which is so lovely. (It is his 21st bday this weekend, holy cow )
A wood cube that is roughly 4x4x4 , less on one side by about 5 inches. It sits in a raised wood garden bed, on top of the soil. It is covered with butterfly netting and poultry wire for squirrels. My garden is in the background, mostly shades of brown, and dried plant matter. Stray plastic pots.

This is what I'm working with tonight. Got buy in from my son, so we're adding to the giving garden.
Seed packets displayed on the floor. Mache, tronchuda kale, dino kale, Georgia southern collards, green wave mustard, leek, calabrese sprouting broccoli, early golden acre cabbage. A mix of opened and new packets.

I've made five family dinners with veggies mostly provided by this thing since I started on 12/16 with *super* low expectations.

I can see how people wind up with dedicated indoor growing spaces. Not sure how far I'll go in that direction. (Lol)
An overcrowded tabletop hydroponics unit with a large (for me) bok choy growing in it. Other plants are shaded by its deep green leaves, like spinach, chard, and other bok choy.
