The British Medical Association Resident Doctors are the backbone of the NHS, they look after us all in hospital.

They passed this motion at their conference which pulls the “supreme” court judgement to pieces.

They call it

“scientifically illiterate”
and
“biologically nonsensical”

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.

The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns.

Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.

The list goes on and on.

Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

Peeps are disgusting and if you like them you are weak and your bloodline is weak and no one will remember your name

It works. The government here largely works. Because we are so spoiled by how well it works, we are letting a fool convince us it is broken.
In 90 years of social security, we have never had a check bounce or be late, but they want you to believe the system is broken.

If Trump can claim a "national emergency" to disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him?

No one is safe — not even people legally in the country, possibly not even American citizens.

Fascism is here.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

Hey hi

The government sold a man into slavery in El Salvador

They now admit they messed up

And are refusing to figure out a way to get him back

Let there be no doubt we will stand up for all of our children and families.

We will follow our state laws that protect the immigrant communities that live, work, and thrive in Illinois.

Know your rights and plan.

Reality check. I’ve lived all over the U.S. including the former Confederate capital, Virginia and my birthplace of Jackson, Mississippi, whose Black residents *currently* have no clean drinking water.

Massachusetts is by far the most openly racist state I’ve ever lived in. And it’s not even close.
Proud #Masshole moment.
Most (56%) Black people in the United States live in “the South.” With all we know of the racism built into America’s justice system (“War on Drugs,” policing, prosecution, incarceration, etc), it’s no surprise a map of INCARCERATION RATES BY STATE looks like this.

Caging Black people is the point.

I have a few young women in my group of engineering mentees and I tell them all the time don't let a mf (usually a man) that seems really confident fool you and intimidate you. Confidence, especially with men and boys, is often a mask for incompetence and it works.

“The success of childhood vaccination has a perverse effect of making the benefits of these vaccines invisible.”

It’s a classic conundrum of preventative measures against disease:* success is when you see nothing when you otherwise would

Nice article from @sarahzhang.bsky.social
Gift article. "For most of human history, half of all children died before reaching age 15; that number is down to just 4 percent worldwide, and far lower in developed countries, with vaccines one of the major drivers of improved life expectancy." Medsky www.theatlantic.com/health/archi...
