What a disappointment.

That man has internalized all the antisemitism. I really don’t think any other explanation of his actions is necessary.
November 29, 2025 at 12:09 AM
And Swedes! Didn’t he go on about them, too?
November 28, 2025 at 10:24 PM
I think that will put Behn over the top.
November 28, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Yup. I’m in TN-6 and my Congressman doesn’t even have a Nashville office.
November 28, 2025 at 9:18 PM
If they win it by 0.1%. The Republican won TN-7 by 21.5% a year ago.
November 28, 2025 at 9:17 PM
I think there is, if we continue to engage with the texts.

He has earned it.
November 28, 2025 at 5:57 PM
He is *the* example of the dangers of over assimilation.
November 28, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Yes, and in my family we called them soup mandlen.
November 28, 2025 at 4:23 AM
When did that start? Because the Cajuns definitely do have fun.
November 28, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Not really, because the abbreviation for los Estados Unidos de Mexico is different.
November 28, 2025 at 12:31 AM
I wouldn’t go that far, but they do need to ban church-lady hats to be consistent.
November 28, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I think it’s easy *unless* you define religion as a modular component of culture that can be removed without changing anything else.
November 27, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Made me laugh.
November 27, 2025 at 5:11 AM
I dunno if it’s been long enough for that. When my husband was in high school he was part of a group to “keep Thursday Thor’s Day.” And this upset the administration.
November 27, 2025 at 5:09 AM
To me that sounds like saying you’ve adopted Rama and celebrate Rama Navami without any religious celebration whatsoever. I guess an individual can do that, but only by ignoring a lot.
November 27, 2025 at 3:47 AM
That’s an intra-Christian argument. You can claim that Christmas has been too commercialized, but that doesn’t make it a secular holiday. You can say that Santa has become the symbol of excess, but he’s still a Christian symbol. You are confusing “being Christian badly” with “not religious.”
November 27, 2025 at 3:25 AM
I mean, I’m sure he did.
November 27, 2025 at 3:18 AM
It’s not merely that he was himself Christian. His whole legend is about how Christian it was to give gifts secretly to those in need.
November 27, 2025 at 3:06 AM
*Saint* Nicholas the *bishop of Bari*? How can he be a Christian symbol?
November 27, 2025 at 2:57 AM
The way they’ve gone about this project is very cool. They started by having people on the internet help sort the pieces by script. I did some of that. It was a lot of fun.
November 27, 2025 at 2:04 AM
It’s a good theory and I’m leaning that way myself. But you sounded so sure I thought you must have seen something I missed.
