Today in Surrey, BC is bringing together all levels of government – federal, provincial, and municipal – together with the BC Extortion Task Force address extortion crimes. The province is focused on better supports for victims, coordinated intelligence, and stronger enforcement.

Terrace BC RCMP's results speak for themselves. With support from our gov’s targeted enforcement funding (C-STEP), officers made 231 arrests, laid dozens of charges, and removed dangerous weapons from the community.

Great work by the Westshore RCMP Bike Patrol Unit, which recovered more than $10,000 in stolen construction equipment through proactive policing.
This patrol is part of our C-STEP program, which helps police target property crime and support local businesses.

BC RCMP are deploying Emergency Response Teams, Police Dogs, BC Highway Patrol & even more CFSEU-BC resources to reinforce the BC Extortion Task Force, one of the largest in provincial history, with targeted patrols, traffic stops & intel gathering to disrupt extortion networks.
