To give a specific example this is a page from CTA's Red Line Extension application for federal funding. On the surface I can understand wat each of these is but can't evaluate whether a 35-year term limit or 0.75% issuance is appropriate or what the long-term impacts are.

I completed my final count. Out of 10,511 bus stops, I found that 4,360 (41%) of them could be removed to align with national best practices of 1/4 mile spacing. Long-form explainer article and an interactive map are forthcoming. Green dots are removed stops, black are kept stops.

I don't watch many movies but this was a well told one with a slightly disconnected timeline as a woman recounts and deals with the 'something' that happened. It's expertly shot and Lia Ouyang Rusli's music is a perfect accompaniment

20, 2024, the PAC ruled in CTA’s favor concluding that Mr. Hunder’s Request for Review
challenging CTA’s use of the Recurrent Requester designation was unfounded and that the PAC
was “unable to conclude that CTA violated FOIA by considering request 2024-0131 in
calculating the number of requests submitted by [Mr. Hunder] in seven days for purposes of
section 2(g) of FOIA.” FOIA Request for Review – 2024 PAC 79991. The following Monday,
June 24, 2024, Mr. Hunder filed his first FOIA-related lawsuit against CTA.
B. Red Line Extension (“RLE”) Project FOIA Requests
On January 22, 2025, Mr. Hunder sent a FOIA request to CTA asking for the “Full funding
grant agreement (FFGA) for the Red Line Extension signed by Dorval Carter and the FTA in
2025.” CTA promptly responded to this FOIA request on Friday, January 31, 2025, and
provided Mr. Hunder with an unredacted copy of the requested agreement.
The following Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Mr. Hunder and another FOIA requester
submitted three FOIA requests that, combined, asked for versions (1-6) of the Red Line
Extension (“RLE”) Project Financial Plan, using identical language as following:

Rideshare is a destructive competition market and contributes to a public health crisis. Like we did in the 20th century for taxis, set a limit on the number of rideshare drivers that can operate in the City. The number of drivers is flattening; a perfect time to place an upper limit.

I've hit the lakeshore routes and as expected, it's insanity. Seven NB stops in four normal blocks. So many people get on here in the morning. Imagine how much time could be saved if everyone walked a block or two over.

SF's MUNI was able to better balance their stops and sped the bus up between 12-20% depending on the route. There's a good explainer in here on how the bus usually spends its time. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
