Italian rogue lawyer, spokesman for the despised and the damned.
Justice should never be a weapon for power. Courts exist to protect rights, not to crush them. When the gavel becomes a hammer, democracy bleeds.

Constitutions are chains with which men bind themselves in their sane moments [so] that they may not die by a suicidal hand in the day of their frenzy. - Sen. John Potter Stockton 1871

🇮🇹 After the rule of law defeated populism in the Albania deportation affair, Italy changed the law, picked a supposedly more favorable court (!), and resumed deportations.

We pay the buffer states to keep the “hordes of immigrants” away from us: institutions couldn’t care less about rights or the rule of law. That leaves us, the Human Rights Defenders (journalists, lawyers, ngo‘s activists, ..), on our own. But we will continue to stand watch.
