As I’ve said. That’s fine for you to believe. But that doesn’t mean everyone else has or has to make that same judgment. 🤷‍♂️

You have fair questions, but I don’t think throwing judgment around on people playing or talking about their games is a fair way to go about it when you admittedly don’t have answers to your own questions.
November 28, 2025 at 7:26 PM
So if you don’t know, you’re just making a full judgment? That doesn’t really make sense.
November 28, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Sure.

But it’s also not gen ai in this case? It’s tts and machine learning for the robotics movements in-game which still have to have an actual animator behind them to make work.

I have many issues with how corps are using AI and their push to replace creativity with that technology.

I called that out.

I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t view all usage of AI as black and white. If I did I’d never use Siri.

It’s a complicated issue and social media thinks it’s not.

I am not being inconsistent.

I did not make a proclamation that I would not cover a game because of these things, just like I wouldn’t make a proclamation to not cover a game because of crunch, or because Microsoft supports things I disagree with.

It'll be interesting to see how it competes. Sounds like the recent tests have been much improved.

I'm personally way more excited about Hunger, the new game from the Hell Let Loose devs.
November 28, 2025 at 5:50 PM
You can accuse me of covering this cause I like the game all you want, the same with The Alters, the same with Call of Duty or whatever else.

I can cover things while also understanding there needs to be discussions around the ethics and usage of AI in those things.
November 28, 2025 at 5:37 PM
There needs to be regulation, there needs to be discussions about ethics, but as far as certain technical applications in specific use cases, I do not think it's a black and white issue and the industry at large doesn't view it that way either as they try to make development more efficient.

In that video I specifically focused on companies looking to replace talent in place of AI.

In Embark's case, they hired people to train their TTS system. You're right, it'd be nice to know how they're compensated for it.

This is a specific use case for task giving NPCs and a ping system.
November 28, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Is this supposed to be a gotcha?

There’s a very clear difference in generative AI for Call of Duty’s calling card art, and Arc Raiders hiring voice actors who gave their permission to train an TTS model for their ping system in-game.

New game from the Agony devs.

It's called Tormentor and it's... something lol.
November 26, 2025 at 9:24 PM
That, and apparently you can’t talk about work issues… outside of work lol.
November 26, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Indeed.
November 26, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Do you have a link to where that’s mentioned rather than just a snarky reply?

Because their website already stated they changed scenes around after initial feedback.
