Same...but I wish there was more engagement here. I often feel like I'm shouting into the void on Bluesky. I miss the comments and community on FB and IG, but I'm inactive (for the most part) on both platforms these days.
I don't use Instagram much, and when I do it's such an assault of ads and pushed posts now. I'm grateful for the lack of advertising here. Hope it lasts.

After recently reading The Fort Bragg Cartel, by Seth Harp (highly recommend), it's pretty easy to imagine how this could happen.
The man suspected of shooting two National Guard members was once part of a CIA-backed paramilitary group, one of several so-called Zero Units, according to Afghan and U.S. officials.
Here’s a Look at the D.C. Shooting Suspect’s C.I.A.-Backed Unit in Afghanistan
The units were backed by the C.I.A. and trained to conduct missions in Afghanistan during the U.S. war in the country.

The Chair Company ep 5 was the most ridiculous, funny half hour bit of comedy I've seen in a good while.

You can’t put the toothpaste back into the tube, so you go around offering it to your neighbors, but none of them want any, so then you brush your teeth 14 times in a row, and now you’re done brushing your teeth for the week.

This whole thread is terrific, and omg these penguin eggs.
The "white" of the egg is translucent & the yolk is orange, almost red. I've attached a contemporary account of someone first seeing the strange yolks & a couple of photos of penguin eggs, which are reportedly very similar to murre eggs...

I've been trying to churn out a bunch of short stories quickly for a project I have in mind and to challenge myself, and all of it is difficult, but nailing an ending is consistently the hardest damn thing.

It's still sometimes implausible to me that you can write a novel one word at a time when it requires so freaking many of them.
