Sorry - that’s just the same deflection. It’s not the issue (which is really your safety and your children’s safety in the event of a slip/ emergency stop etc). I think I am going to propose that at this point it is better to acknowledge that we have very different views on this point and stop.

Sure, but that doesn’t absolve us of a need to make judgements about what is safe when we cycle.

I guess we will all have different views of the design/ safety envelopes of these bikes. All the current “tree by bike” stuff makes me worry that there is a competitive or bravado element creeping in to all this, and that may alter our risk assessments.

Just noticed this (by way of contrast). Is it possible that there is a downside to all the #quaxxing and #CarryShitOlympics stuff? bsky.app/profile/whoa...
Christmas Tree by bakfiets 🎄🚲 First weekend of our advent calendar always includes getting a tree from the nearby Scout lot. This was our first year doing it by bike. I hope the xc skiers enjoyed watching us ride along while A held a 6ft Christmas tree in the box. #yycbike

It’s like you’ve actually met me…

Fair, I think video angles and focal lengths are often a bit misleading. Think the following would still be my preference …

Have to say that the obstruction to the field of view gets a -1 from me. Particularly on a shared path. I’ve cycled Urban Arrows a couple of times, and like them, but I don’t think they are as good for this sort of long load as other options (low loader or long tail/ trailer feel safer to me).

Although this may be a solution? bsky.app/profile/clap...

Well, a few of us could offer an opinion, if you like...? :-)

Prediction: the world (as seen from Corstorphine) will not end.

Ditto - great response.

Not _that_ long, surely? :-) Still, you’re right. Not sure I had ever seen this either.

That’s a depressing thought, particularly given AA’s propensity for prediction accuracy. (Has there been a Podyssey episode on Cassandra yet?)

Hmmm - still gives him 36 hours or so to take action. Hope it isn't too alarmist to suggest a measure of caution for the next couple of days. So sorry this has happened.

Thanks, won't make this one, but keen to get along to the second event. Really important project, but just too limited in scope. It absolutely must be extended to connect to Cramond Primary School in this phase of work, not leaving that for later.

Holy moley, that is deeply weird.

Have now listened to it, and it is a lovely album. Such a warm sound and terrific playing from all involved. Many congratulations!

Excellent. Very jealous - want to do this too. Please take pictures and report back. Have a fabulous trip.

Listened to this on the bus this morning. Really great stuff, Sara.
November 12, 2025 at 11:19 AM
That’s lovely, Isla. Looking forward to hearing this.

It rather feels like a forehead-desk interface moment.

Also worth noting that there is a noticeable amount of parking on double yellows, and one section where no double yellows but mandatory cycle lane (solid white line). Needs an enforcement campaign (or proper segregation, of course!).
