ARTFUL, BALANCED, TIMELESS, ETHERIAL & CONTEMPLATIVE. JUST THINK ABOUT IT.
Thanks for your interest . . . I'll see if I can come up with something. She was a wonderful person with a great spirit, a tremendous sense of humor, and a passion for life. Her she is with some of her colleagues . . . third from the left. She was the "life of the party"!

Great photo that wonderfully captures the setting, but I really don't like that "space". Too bad it couldn't have remained as Dr. David Hosack's "Elgin Botanic Garden", pictured here circa 1810 . . . a resource later squandered by Columbia University.

The Maharaja of the Keyboard . . . I heard Oscar Peterson perform a couple of times in person during the 1960s, and indeed, he was that good!

Who is your pick for the KENTUCKY DERBY . . .?
I've got my favorite . . . but he's a long shot.

Showed up for a program by a pioneer of contemporary gospel music, Andrae Crouch . . . 1 day late. Needless to say, he wasn't there. DUH!

THAT'S "TOOTS" . . . at his best. Saw him in concert in Upstate New York around 2006 . . . enchanting performance. Proud to say I have an autographed copy of his 2001 CD on Verve, called "Toots Thielemans & Kenny Werner".

The "Pelican Inn" at Pawleys Island, SC . . . viewed from the salt marsh. The Atlantic Ocean is just behind the Inn . . . once you get past the maritime forest of LIVE OAKS, and then over a HUGE sand dune. A magical place!

Once again, the salt marsh at Pawleys Island, South Carolina . . . viewed from the porch and the grounds of the historic antebellum landmark known as the "Pelican Inn".

My favorite salt marsh . . . Pawleys Island, South Carolina and nearby Winyah Bay.

If you're ever in the Tidewater area of Virginia, be sure to check it out . . . many of the concerts are free and open to the public!

From across "The Pond" . . . Inland Seaside happiness (Lake Ontario) in the 1930s . . . from a cherished collection of family photographs (with 3 generations of "Life Guards", so far).

And here is a historic rendering of the house and garden that George Eastman created with the profits from that invention. (from the collection of the George Eastman Museum, Rochester, NY)

I've been interested in John McComb's work during the early years of the Republic, mostly in the NYC area. I believe he also designed the light at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay in Virginia (Cape Henry).

Majestic setting . . . here's the original concept rendering from the architect (John McComb).

What do you think about banning people from TikTok, BlueSky, X or other platforms for criticizing FEMA for their failures in the mountains of Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene? Seems a but much . . .
