44% of women and girls (aged 15+) in Canada have experienced Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in their lifetime. Up to 92% of direct physical IPV incidents involve force or pressure to the face, head, and neck, which is likely to result in a brain injury.

It’s #NationalAddictionsAwarenessWeek! Substance use can be common before & after a #TBI.

Clinicians should ✅ integrate substance use goals & interventions into a patient’s TBI rehabilitation plan & ❌ not use substance use as a reason to exclude a patient from rehab.

La douleur et les céphalées sont fréquentes après un TCC; ils peuvent apparaître juste après la blessure et persister tout au long de la convalescence.
