as far as the future of throwing things at slimes, i am thinking throwing things at normal creatures probably harms them slightly, but slimes should i think just pick up/stick to the item you throw, and then carry it around. so you can stick lights, bait, etc on them

oop started the gif too late, thought it had me picking the item up. right now it just lists items by letter keys in the message log if you hit the button for an action that requires an item, then waits for you to hit a valid index for one of those items. probably i should add some kind of interface

i did get it working. now trying to make a scheduling/action system that does the basic stuff i want without being too complicated i hope.

i am at least slightly moth themed though so probably i will do the spell where you hide a flaming sword in a lamp or torch and if anybody fucks with you they get the sword (lamp is my friend)

i don't love the core dice mechanic because I'm just never that into rolling a bunch of dice and counting how many show X+. i guess at least the X is always 7, even if you need to remember when you do or don't double count 10s (or 9s, with the right abilities)

i like the initiative system so far, among the things i have skimmed through. i have experimented with similar "initiative is a resource you accumulate and spend" mechanics a little bit, but i think i called it tempo.

i wish i could write legibly within seconds of waking so i didn't have to try to parse my own groggy morning voice to examine my dreams but i guess i would probably just be squinting at illegible writing
