My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

Shooting of National Guard in Washington already being used to attack rights. The shooting is wrong, but just like how C. Kirk was used, we must stay course. Trump looking for any reason to deploy to cities & take freedom. Don’t give inch. They have whole structure always ready to go to take rights.

Good to be enthused about candidates & support them. But keep enough resources of all kinds to advocate for self & others in challenging days ahead. Most campaigns extract more than return. When we form relationships & alliances amongst ourselves, expands ability to fight back & gives us strength.

This is direct conflict to what Whitmire claimed his homeless plan would do & what he told Council last week when so-called Civility Ordinance expanded. Council had already read with own eyes Chronicle reporting recently saying this. Now KUHF says also. www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/new...
Data: Houston police ramp up citations of homeless people | Houston Public Media

I’d hoped all the electeds making sure they were pictured at the strike at the Hilton, would lead to aggressive push back to brutalization of Hispanic laboring class & others by ICE. So far that hope has largely been misplaced. Labor itself could also call on Whitmire to push back on ICE. #Houston
