This post, article whatever you want to call it - is the best ‘pacing in a nutshell’ explanation I’ve seen. #painmanagement #chronicpain

This is really good advice and I’m going to try to incorporate it into my pain management plan. Not tonight though because it’s been a rocky afternoon/evening and I only have the energy to lie on the sofa and occasionally look at my phone. #chronicpain #painmanagement
I was reminded recently how important it is to recognise that with chronic illness and neurodivergence, what recharges me in one symptom level/scenario, might overload me in another. Cross stitch can totally recharge me in one symptom level/symptom combination, and be way too much in another. -

The reduction in the move on period has been shown to cause homelessness among refugees. It just is not possible for many to find a new place to live in 28 days, or for most people for that matter. It's a harmful, and cynical, manoeuvre by the government, and shifts support needs onto councils.
The government’s decision to halve the time limit for refugees to leave Home Office accommodation is driving people into homelessness and exploitation, according to migrant rights campaigners and homelessness charities

By me, for @theleaduk.bsky.social national.thelead.uk/p/new-asylum...
New asylum policies making homeless refugees “targets for the far right”
Labour’s abrupt return to the 28-day move-on period is pushing vulnerable people into rough sleeping and exposing them to fraud and abuse.

Again, @zackpolanski.bsky.social is spot on. Asylum seekers run for their lives. They travel enormous distances at great risk to reach safety. They have no other choice.

That's why deterrence doesn't work (anywhere ... & never has). And the cruelty that comes with it is inexcusable.

How is this not the top story on every news bulletin?
This has been happening for years and instead of doing anything to protect children successive governments have made the situation worse. This isn't just on councils. It is part of failings on a State level.

Sadly not remotely surprised. Johnson is a spineless little shit.

The way this Govenrment are treating some of the most vulnerable people in the world is disgusting.

And they the audacity to pretend it's coming from a place of compassion and concern.

Their only actual concern seems to be dancing to the tune of the far right rather than tackle inequality.

states should accept people fleeing death & persecution, that's bedrock to the global order & our obligations to others

we should all happily participate in that

instead, we have to undermine it in every way we can because dipshits who've been wrong about everything think that's the smart play

Problem is they are a very vocal minority and because of that are taken as the "voice of the people". Make your voice heard against them👇

One of the worst features of the 21st century discourse is the "complex problems require complicated solutions" trope. The solutions are generally, at heart, simple. Carrying them through tends to require strategy, planning, leadership, advocacy, persistence, resources. Oh, and courage.
