Noon has come and gone, but with the sun so low and the rain clouds so heavy, the neighbor's lights say we haven't had proper dawn yet. They're on a dawn-dusk sensor, and usually go off during the day but... I guess December 8th doesn't have anything that qualifies as "day".

I am doing the smart thing and NOT trying to push through my general exhaustion to write most of a 1500 word paper in a day. (The prof knows I am on sick leave and said I could just do a re-take later instead!) And I know it's the smart thing, but it still feels like "failing" to "give up". 😭

I had a #MusicAdvent artist ready to go yesterday and then Tired happened so catching up: G is for Garmarna, a fantastic Swedish band that mix old traditional music with modern in a way I love. Picked Över Gränsen because it features another favorite artist: Maxida Märak! And the video is dope.
One of the best things about being on sick leave is that I don't have to sit there smiling blandly while my boss' boss (and certain coworkers) enthusiastically go on about how much ChatGPT has "helped" them with certain tasks. (Especially when the task involved summarizing text they had not read. 🫠)

#DecRecs today: the Kdrama Revenant! Which is so good and creepy but not horror in the gore & jumpscare sense. (CW for suicide and child death.). A really compelling story with some absolutely stellar acting.
Finished #Revenant yesterday, and it was SO satisfying!! The story wraps up beautifully, and gives all the female characters so much agency. (Agency they use to be both good and really, really NOT!) And I love how the horror stays a thing of mirrors and shadows and unsettling smiles. 1/2
