Here for:
NFL - diehard Buffalo Bills fan
UK Politics - I'm a Labour party member
Cinema - Miyazaki, Malick, Marty
Look, I love the BBC, I tend to reject any calls of bias against it - it tends to mostly be people who just want total endorsement of their views from the Beeb. But even the Labour sceptics must admit that this front page is, at the very least, skewed.

Drew Struzan is one of those artists who effectively redefined their art form, as important to the movie poster as Saul Bass. Impossible to choose a favourite, but I love him applying his signature style to the Muppets.

Well then it's not really your dream summer holiday, is it?

Disagree with these opening lines from the BBC - nationalism is nationalism, and there may have been a "respectable" face of it for a while but it was and still is an appeal to base instincts.

Hang on, apparently it's *not* Your Party, but that's only according to one reply to a Politics Joe tweet. Going well.

This is what I settled on today, not in any order. Tomorrow it'd likely be different.

I'm at a conference but there's a peregrine falcon on this spire and nobody knows. How can I focus on Legal Aid now??

@empiremagazine.bsky.social Question from your I'm Still Here: did Walter Salles direct City of God, or was that Meirelles ?

@cbuckthorn.bsky.social Here are some animals I've seen recently for your child. A black-tailed godwit, a deer, a vole, a yellowhammer. May they be happy.

I took this photo of a very fat robin last year.

This guy has always seemed nice enough, but he does spell it with an i, which does make him a worse person imo.

Are they trying to put the UK off the NFL? We don't deserve this.

Jimmy Carter gave this (very unpopular at the time) speech decades ago, but read this excerpt from it now - look how prescient he was, and how much truer it is of today.

Devastated to learn that I am a wimp for... eating lunch.

Astonishingly tone-deaf paragraph from Indiewire in their review of Say Nothing, a show about the IRA.

I simply don't know how you can watch such a complex show and respond like this, but it would help for American critics to imagine a world beyond their own.

Really vicious motion from the Tories in their debate tomorrow. I'm no fan of the budget, but taking away free bus travel from asylum seekers would make such a negligible difference to the budget it can only be to stoke the fires of their "culture wars".

Idly looking at other shows and beginning to see the problem.
