as it turns out, clients like lawyers who fight.
Microsoft has dropped a law firm that settled with the Trump administration in favor of one that is fighting the president’s executive orders, in a sign that those firms can still attract clients.

It's now a filibuster though it didn't start as one, and it should be backed up with the tactics that we more commonly know as a filibuster but impose no cost on the people who employ them: deny unanimous consent for everything and make the majority walk in quicksand.
By request: some comments on the @booker.senate.gov filibuster.

1) is it a filibuster? YES. Filibustering is defined as parliamentary delay for strategic gain. As of this morning, Booker had not delayed anything, so I would have said "no." But now he has consumed a full day of Senate "work."

@booker.senate.gov quoting or paraphrasing his parents, eloquently.

We should all remember this mantra.

There is absolutely nothing stopping outside organizations setting up call campaigns to Senators that voted “no” on cloture demanding a leadership challenge to Schumer.

Of these, only Durbin is up in 2026 sadly
What a complete and utter betrayal of the House and your constituents by Schumer, Fetterman, Masto, Durbin, King, Shaheen, Gillibrand, Schatz, Hassan, and Peters. Looking forward to your primaries.

In advance of the Oscars tonight: a lot of comedy heroes let you down. They become unfunny/bitter/closed minded. Conan is the exception. He has grown & evolved & is funnier than he’s ever been. He’s also an extremely kind and lovely human. Just a sincere post to say: Conan rules.

Probably says a bit about where I'm at right now that the reveal of where the title comes from had me sobbing. This is part of what I'm always going on about it with moral seriousness: acting like what you do and say actually matters, and that you're obligated to the world.
