Orion’s EFT-1 launched Dec. 5, 2014, flying 3,600 miles above Earth to test its heat shield. Artemis I followed on Nov. 16, 2022, reaching 268,563 miles from Earth. Now, Artemis II will send a crew around the Moon in April 2026.
