The C&AG has provided a clean opinion on the Defra financial statements for the first time since 2018-19. He commends Defra and the Environment Agency for the progress they have made in asset data supporting their valuation of key infrastructure.

The MoD does not know the exact cost to date of the Afghanistan Response Route scheme to resettle people in the UK following a 2022 data breach.

An estimated 7,355 people will be resettled through the scheme as a result of the breach.

The Comptroller & Auditor General has disclaimed the Whole of Government Accounts for 2023-24.

This is due to a lack of audited accounts for English local authorities, with only 4% of these bodies producing audited accounts.

The Comptroller &Auditor General has disclaimed his opinion on the College of Policing 2023-24 financial statements.

The College failed to properly manage a transition to new accounting systems, so he couldn't obtain sufficient evidence to form an opinion.
