Disaster pack list
Found elsewhere. Pretty good list for folks in the fire zone but frankly anyone of us these days. List of things to scan or consolidate for emergency bug out.
One of the best cartoons from First Dog. Truly worth reading

This may be thought only have a limited audience but it is a thoughtful and timely piece that I encourage everyone to read. Australian but relevant to all

Why are we so quick to criticise other doctors when things go wrong?
Why are we so ready to criticise colleagues? We’re encouraged to develop empathy for our patients. Why can’t we be empathetic towards each other? Why,

Ok #auspol, I have a theory. I think Spud is actually scared shitless about losing his own seat. His ideas now are less about Australia’s future and more about the desires of Dickson voters. Come on Dickson, you know the assignment. 😊🤞🦋

Paid subbies to my newsletter can see how (and how we know) the building-sized potentially Earth-impacting asteroid 2024 YR4 is shaped like a battered hockey puck, and also how an exoplanet was detected in X-rays!

Asteroid 2024 YR4 is a hockey puck! And an exoplanet seen in X-rays, kinda
Shape models show the asteroid is flattened, and an alien world transits its X-ray emitting star

A lot of very upset people in the electorate of Bennelong with the Liberal candidate apparently hanging outside a local school gate giving chocolates to the kids in order to chat up their parents. People are furious! #StrangerDanger #auspol

Interesting thread
I got tagged in a long earnest thread about how criticising Labor is the same as criticising all working Australians.

This is cultish. I could not see it more differently.

For decades, under both blue and red T-shirt governments, wealth inequality has grown massively.

I just see sellouts.

The present government are a long way from being perfect but seriously, does anyone really want to return to the sleaze and corruption we endured under Morrison?

The Liberal Party is re-posting a pro-Greens TikTok influencer's videos without her permission BUT edited versions of them to make it appear the TikTok influencer is criticising the Greens. This is blatant disinformation. Will our media call the Libs out for this deception? 😠 #auspol #AusVotes25

So the reason Norfolk Island copped a dramatically higher tariff than the rest of Australia is two shipments of Timbaland boots from the Bahamas and some aquarium supplies from the UK that had their point of origin mislabeled or misrecorded.
