Back in the day I remember watching trashy reality TV and thinking, somewhat ironically, that it was gonna be the downfall of society. I couldn't have predicted that it would literally be the hosts of The Apprentice and Fear Factor respectively that would bring us down.

The problem with the "a frog in a slowly boiling pot, never decides to jump" analogy is that it seems to imply that if it were to simply jump out of the pot, it would be free to live its froggy life afterwards. But this frog is in a kitchen with a chef that is intent on eating frog legs.
