Ha. I think this might be a game for holiday break where I can sink my brain time in to it. My eyes glazed over a bit reading the weapon system mechanics.

Reading the in-game manual and realising I may not have the brain space to engage with this game’s mechanics properly at this time though.

Got my Pocket Flip 2 in the mail on Friday so I can catch up on some old favs and games I never got around to playing (it will run up to PS2 era)

Also for a PS1 game the lighting direction in this game is crazy good

God I’m glad I got mine during last year’s sales where it was $550 for the disc drive version…

Why is the lighting so cursed

Some of this is mitigated by the omamori you can equip (the dodge+counter plus stamina regen is pretty good for bosses) and you can just ignore a bunch of enemies, but ultimately the combat isn’t quite there enough for the amount of mandatory encounters the game gives you in the last 1/3.

That last one is so funny though. Aspirational really.
