There is a lot of inherent sexism of the peoples on Pern, reflecting of course the time period these books were written and published (1968 and beyond). But the women are always fighting that, and the highest ranking dragonriders were women, which I always loved. Would be nice to see again.

I would appreciate a revisit of that series somehow. I think what I want is an animated movie, but a super serious high budget CG production a la Game of Thrones would also make me really happy. Just make sure to include the sexual fluidity of the dragonriders. Also must have Menolly's firelizards.

I was reminded that I used to be obsessed with the Dragonriders of Pern and so I am putting that out there. It's amazing how much I still have tucked away in my head about that series.
