My hope is that we continue to evolve while staying rooted in what matters: science in the service of human suffering. ACBS opened countless doors, not just professionally, but personally. It gave me opportunities to teach around the world, to write, to lead, to mentor, and to be mentored in turn. It connected me with remarkable people who share a commitment to science and compassion.

I have many fond ACBS moments, some truly grand & others contemplative. But, what stays with me are the late-night conversations & laughs. I once had a dancing session with just 6 or 7 of us in the auditorium in Argentina. I laughed so hard and learned that I don’t know very much about how to dance.
