If Pixar could to ditch John Lasseter in 2018, then HOPEFULLY (and I mean it when I say hopefully) Skydance will end up ditching him as well. He's DEFINITELY not good for the animation industry anymore.

Also, the first Ne Zha movie (which released in 2019) didn't get shortlisted for Best Animated Feature either. It was however China's official submission for Best International Feature in that year's Academy Awards. Unsurprisingly though, it ultimately wasn't nominated for said Oscar.

The Legend of Hei II didn't get an official English dub, whereas Ne Zha 2 did get one, courtesy of A24. Heck, I doubt A24 even bothered to submit NZ2 for consideration at the Academy, let alone Beijing Enlight Pictures (NZ2's original distributor). I think that could be why.
