Right. I am a New Yorker over 65 with a lung condition. Saturday a Walgreens pharmacist said I could get the COVID vax with no Rx. Showed up for appointment Monday and pharmacist said Walgreens computer system had not yet been updated to reflect Hochul EO, so Rx still needed.

I feel sorry for the doctors and pharmacists who would like to provide the vax but are now unable to and who are fielding questions from myriad confused patients. Mostly, I am sorry for the people who will get sick because of the new restrictions.

Catch 22 is that the very docs who told me I should get the new vax because of new variant, my age, and an underlying condition are the same docs who will not issue an Rx until the CDC provides guidance. I imagine this is a restriction imposed by the institutions they’re affiliated with.

I’m over 65 and in my state Walgreens has the updated vax but requires an Rx.However my docs will not give Rx until the CDC issues its recommendations later this month.I know several people who have recently come down with COVID, and it looks like there are going to be many more.So much for MAHA.

This should motivate library lovers to donate whatever they can to their local library.

I live in the West 60s and found that when I told people I lived on the UWS they generally assumed I lived in the 80s or 90s. So now I say “near Lincoln Center” for clarity. I’m good with Lincoln Square.
