There are a massive amount of lies being peddled about Charlie Kirk, so I compiled a list of worthwhile articles to check out instead. His murder was alarming, but not for the reasons most are talking about mst3katie.substack.com/p/star-wreck...
Just once I wish one of these journalists Trump insults would come back with “sorry, New Yorkers usually have thicker skin”

Bringing up the 1st Amendment here is specious (at best) because the bad grade wasn't the reason for the OU suspension. That overreaction happened due to a coordinated, transphobic attack on the TA, as Parker Malloy rightfully pointed out. Pretending she's being "nasty" is so bad faith it's gauche

The Chair Company is full of minor characters with one or two scenes max who are 100% the main character of their own story just colliding with the primary plot-line at full speed and I love that

Just found out that the guy who runs the men's clothing shop in The Chair Company is in fact the actual guy who runs the actual men's clothing shop that they filmed in. They were location scouting his store and were so struck by the way he talked that they cast him variety.com/2025/tv/news...

It’s sad that the discussion around pornography is always framed as “it’s potentially harmful.” It’s also potentially healthy? What did you learn about yourself, your body, your gender, your preferences, your boundaries and your self expression through the smut you consume?

Speaking as someone who didn’t really care for I Think You Should Leave, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by The Chair Company. It’s completely unhinged - with hints of Blue Velvet and Beau Is Afraid and The Big Lebowski - just chock full of character actors who are absolutely killing it

Two things can be true at once:

1) Angelenos act like temps below 68°F are freezing cold and that’s silly

2) Lots of our buildings have zero installation and windows that are drafty as hell, so 55°F genuinely can feel worse here than in New England or the Midwest

I dig the trailers for The Running Man remake and How to Make a Killing but the least believable part of each is that Glen Powell is a poor, working-class man desperate for money

This nightmare started with the Biden EPA narrowing the definition of PFAS to omit thousands from being regulated in pesticides. Now Trump is dialing everything up to 11

Massie was crucial to forging the Epstein bill coalition. What he's saying here -- that Epstein had CIA and Mossad ties -- is supported by reporting, notably the excellent series at Drop Site on Epstein's as an international power broker. The mainstream media has almost entirely ignored this topic.
Rep. Thomas Massie: Epstein had close ties to our own intelligence agency and Israel's intelligence agencies. That’s why they’re trying to stop this.

(Learn about those ties in Drop Site News - link below)

Obviously vaccines don’t cause autism, but even if they did who the fuck cares. Autism is a million times better than being maimed or killed by the measles, polio, hepatitis B, smallpox, etc

One compelling theory I’ve heard re: nihilist extremist violence replacing some far-Right violence is that young white male proto-shooters have seen Trump fail them twice now, so they see no path forward

Yup! Another example: Larry Summers worked for the Obama administration *and* advised Biden during his 2020 Presidential campaign
"Every administration had people directly connected to Epstein in top positions. Barr, Blinken, Acosta, etc. You can play 'six degrees of Jeffrey Epstein' but it's like, the guy down the hall. You don't have to look very far."

*Pluribus spoilers*

In “Please, Carol” when the pod-person tells Carol that they love her books because they see them through the eyes of her biggest fans, I wish she’d asked about the eyes of her critics. Why doesn’t their perspective count as much as her fans?

It's bad enough that Google Search has been corrupted, but the INTERNAL search functions of websites no longer work either

You're tell me the Miami Herald has never written a story about HARVARD UNIVERSITY

I wish this were an isolated incident
