You are expecting them to live to impossible standards. Addiction isn’t a choice, it doesn’t make them bad people or bad doctors.

Of course people stop using. And yes if a doctor is not longer misusing drugs I think there is no reason not to take medical advice from them.

Are there any other illnesses that you think should preclude doctors from giving medical advice?

I just finished reading a book about this generation of Kennedys. The only positive thing I have to say about RFK jr is he really worked hard to get off heroin after his brother’s death.

I don’t think he’s a sociopath. He’s just an asshole.
