And there it is. Same holds for activists, writers, "free speech" orgs, arts institutions and everyone else who has been silent for 15 months.

I keep seeing "Why aren't the Americans striking" and "Because our healthcare is tied to our jobs" and it never gets less true or less depressing

maybe I will try to write even though it is "too late in the day to start," maybe time is an illusion and I can conquer it with willpower

Delighted to find a review of MY LESBIAN NOVEL in The Guardian this morning!

"Gladman’s reading of popular romances feels so genuine, the love scene so easy a fusion of readerly and writerly delight, that another kind of novel seems possible..."

The American author sets out to write a “feelgood” romance that honours her commitment to language as a charged, living entity

A lot of people don’t think kids are real people! It’s a narrative we perpetuate every day!
the clear sign that they just don’t see these kids as real people is the endless concern over hypotheticals and the indifference to the reality that actual children are more likely to kill themselves because of these bans
Kavanaugh also brings up "detransitioners," people who "regret" their decision to transition genders. Like Alito, he cites European countries that are "pulling back" from gender-affirming care for minors, saying it's a "yellow light" or "red light" for the court that Europe is "pumping the brakes."

Hubby and I got funding to direct a short film adaptation of one of our works!

I would LOVE the opportunity to shadow a horror director first - if anyone has a shoot scheduled between now and June of 2025. (Particularly in L.A.)

Just putting it out here in the blue skies! 😀

When I was 5, I loved science, which I took to be planets and magnets and chemicals and shit.

Soon I realized science was a collective human activity, and these were just the objects of its attention.

Anyway, whenever I read an OpEd on how science isn't political, I think "Are you 5 years old?"

Trying to write what I hoped would be a short sci-fi tale, I've got 15 books open on my desk, with topics ranging from seed banks, genetic engineering, artificial intelligence, sea level rise, colonization of the Americas, a new translation of Beowulf, etc. etc. Should have this short done by 2045.
