Wait'll you see how he and his cronies want to plug the State's massive budget gap! The 2026 legislative session is going to be lit, as the kids say.

I haven't done much with CSS in a while and holy crap I know zero CSS.

I'm not not interested.

I wouldn't feel bad about losing either 1 or 6. Yeah, I'm that guy. But that means more of those for the normals!

I hear you. I feel like I've been in the midst of one of those for a couple years now. It sure would be nice to get to the other side, but I don't know how to get there.

Your link goes to their 2016 show. I think you want this link: www.dci.org/events/2026-...

Did you get to see Blast! when it was touring? I had the pleasure of seeing it 3x, in LNK, OMA, and a mini show at California Adventure.

That was me the previous night! I figure I got 3 hours of actual sleep. My solution: lots and lots of iced tea. Caffeine + constantly needing to pee was enough to get me through.

I figure as long as I keep my aneurysm flare-ups below once per month, I'm golden.

How large / what kind of space do these 13 people work in? I ask because it surprises me that a university would leave 13 people without easy access to a phone in the event of an emergency.

You can have my phone if you want to come get it. I've never used it in the 2.5 years I've worked here.

If you weren't aware, Matthew Sweet suffered a stroke last year (www.rollingstone.com/music/music-...). He is still recovering. There is a GoFundMe (www.gofundme.com/f/support-ma...) to support him. I would ask why somebody like him needs one, but I know the answer is largely "American healthcare".
'I Had the Stroke, and It Was All Over': Matthew Sweet's Road to Recovery
Matthew Sweet, known for the power pop album 'Girlfriend,' gives his first interview since suffering a stroke in 2024.

I look forward to reading their post-mortem. They usually write good ones. Their CTO sounds ... unhappy about how things went down. I get the feeling this one was particularly preventable.

There are plenty of exceptions, of course. But I think they prove the rule. It's good to have the occasional outlier in any genre or art form.

Country music is best when it tells stories in a catchy way (for various definitions of "catchy"). 9-5 tells a story. Sold (the Grundy County Auction Incident) tells a story. One Piece At a Time tells a story. The Thunder Rolls tells a story. Without a story it doesn't feel like country music to me.

One of the great smells, alongside coffee, Grandma's bread, Grandpa's workshop, and freshly-mowed lawn.
