I’m really proud of this 5-issue story about escapees, seeking freedom outside prison walls. Working with @ifyoucantwell.bsky.social is great! And our editor @besspallares.bsky.social (@oni-press.bsky.social) is the best!

Head to your comic shop! And find my original art at mrcrook.com/store.
I know someone on here knows what pen nib Urasawa uses so, spill the beans!

I guess I understand why the press isn’t mentioning it but, it sure looks like either Trump ordered the killing of Epstein or someone in the prison just volunteered to kill Epstein to protect Trump.

Remember the immigration raid on the apartment complex in Chicago almost two months ago? The one with the Black Hawk helicopter and federal agents rappelling on ropes? @ProPublica decided to take a deeper look. We found little evidence to support the government’s claims. 🧵

My most strongly held comics opinion (I hesitate to say "opinion," because it's a fact): lettering should be the first finished thing done, not the last. Done after (or along with) roughs and finalized before pencils. Pencils and inking should be done AROUND the lettering.

And if you don't letter your own books, editors should schedule and develop practices that allow a book to be lettered before penciling.
Everyone should do their lettering at the layouts phase.
If the balloons are breaking the borders, you're doing it wrong. I have to do my letters at the layout phase, before even rough pencils, because if I don't there is absolutely not going to be enough room for the balloons

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Since my export workflow is different, I've never made a lettering stack before. But since Lucas is sharing his and they all look so fun, here's my stack of lettering from Zatanna #1 by Jamal Campbell:

Inspired my Lucas' lettering stacks, here's the letting for The Lonesome Hunters #1. I put the SFX in the art, so mine look a little less flashy. Still, it's interesting how my letting seems to clump up in 3 tiers. Most (but not all) of the yellow captions represent the upper left corner of a panel.

For today's stacks I'm bringing you the first installment of BULLET (each stack is 20pg of that book), IMO the most fun indie speedster book published ATM. Issue #3 is out today--you can check it at @altruistcomics.bsky.social

This is A-level stuff both story and artwise--hopefully lettering too!

Democrats at every level of power could simply repeat "he must resign" over and over and over again. It's what the GOP would do if the situation were reversed. Further erode his power by pushing him to lash out more.
