As opposed to Pete Hegseth, I believe in due process. That means I believe Hegseth should get a full trial. Then after he’s convicted of murder we put him in a fishing boat in international waters where we have the US military fire missiles at him. Due process at its finest.

I assume Amit Agarwal was chosen to defend independent agencies at the Supreme Court today because he's a former Alito and Kavanaugh clerk with a conservative pedigree. But he is doing a very poor job, and I think a progressive advocate with subject matter expertise would've been far more effective.

One question I have is once this case is done, won't a future case come up on whether the president can ignore the requirement that agencies have members from both parties? President could just say that infringes upon his Article 2 powers.
The Supreme Court is almost certainly going to rule for Trump over independent agency firings that will transform the nature of the federal government. The only real question is how broad the ruling will be.

Hasn't this been a consistent thing for Trump though? They give his lawyers the opportunity "please give us a governing principle that limits these powers, a reasonable fig leaf to tether to" and they consistently say "nope; Trump can order his critics murdered on the public interest legally."
