We had a VG supermarket near ours. It was a bit rubbish. They were all replaced by Spar from memory.

I think that's right. But I could see a desperate Tory Party try it with Boris Johnson if they thought it might work. It's less unconstitutional than proroguing parliament!

Technically still true in the UK. Plenty of Lords have held the job. These days you could just get the previous PM to appoint you to the Lords at the last minute and you could serve. Alex Douglas Home chose to resign peerage but didn't have to.

A hot toddy before bed sounds like a plan. I was in Llandudno on Friday night, planning to stay for the weekend, but Darragh did it's thing and we lost all power! Didn't come back till today I'm told. So I had to come home. Very annoying! 🤣🤣
