Toronto. Formerly a tech guy. Currently procrastinating.
I've only gone through Dulles once, and it's absolutely a pain in the butt to get to from DC, but I thought it was one of the coolest airports I'd ever seen.

Taking the lady friend to Jack Astor's (slightly elevated TGI Friday's), Zootopia, and Bowling tonight - she called it "an awesome suburban mall date" and I was not ashamed.

The 3D movie trend it kicked off lasted for years

The memory of seeing True Lies totally blind at a sleepover when I was 10 is crystal clear, even today. The bathroom shootout into the horse/motorcycle chase was, bar none, the coolest thing I had ever ever seen.

I was like this in my early 20s - not this particular style of bro, but abrasive for no good reason. But you know... I grew out of it? And my personal relationships are way better as a result?

Just a thought.

I go by Rock Band rules on Letterboxd - if it doesn't warrant 3 stars I just leave it unrated (1/2 star is saved for stuff that's truly unpleasant to sit through).

I'll always be a ride or die for Edgar (and I'm in the minority that dug the ending), but it would've benefited from tighter pacing.

I’d push back on Running Man, but other than that? Hell yeah. 2025 has been an unusually great year for movies.

(this post brought to you by finally figuring out the tone of a concept I love but have spent the past week fighting with)

Trying to be provocative and get any reaction because they're resigned to never getting the reaction they want is not an attractive look.

How does someone get to 36 thinking this is the way.

What I understand is Meta’s been using AI for ad targeting - make your purest campaign, and Meta will figure out the audience for it (so long as you give them enough ad spend to test things out).

I’m hearing in more and more places that earnest and determined positivity is pretty cool these days.

Which is to say yeah, it’s a pretty solid starting point for a slogan and they’d be fools not to get that Macklemore track for a commercial.

He’s corny, but folks you want to win don’t think so.

I worked on integrating bitcoin with online stores 10-15 years ago, and quickly realized there’s a reason credit cards charge a percentage and can do chargebacks.

Turns out those things are pretty important to consumers who want easy payments with protections if they get scammed!

New York had a good long read about the case: nymag.com/intelligence...

It’s pretty much all laid out in the last song of the show!

Seriously though consider some kinda punchcard @rianjohnson.bsky.social.

The best audience in movies is never not worth it, but loyalty, y’know?
