Me when Notion drops a new feature: 🤯 This is it. My entire workflow is about to be unstoppable.

My friend: Cool. Anyway… 😐

ps. If you're like me, my newsletter Spells for Systems is made for you. And it's free.

Notion users be like:

🔹 "Of course! It’s easy!"
🔹 "Yeah… totally… I think?"
🔹 "Wait, what???"
🔹 "Nope. Not doing this."

Which one are you? Be honest! 😂

Anxiously waiting for Alfred to land in #Brisbane. So of course, I'm making a @notion.com template while everything we've done is fresh on my mind 🤣

Friends who've been in a cyclone or similar natural disaster, what's on your to-do list?

Stocking up on hot cross buns was a mission of ours 😜

Did you know that a few minutes into using a new @notion.com template, you'll get a little pop-up asking you for reviews?

Putting this out there for anyone who needs it right now:

👉 Tell me how I can help you

There are a few things I can’t do, like:

🎨 Face painting tips and tricks (that’s my daughter’s expertise)

Anything else, especially @notion.com stuff, just ask. I’d love to see if I can help.

Random #Notion trick I figured out today:

When putting a recurring task in "on hold" status, you can choose to use a formula to edit the date, and leave that formula empty so t clears the date.

The task still lives in the database but doesn't show in my calendar view.

This week's newsletter (Spells for System, a weekly digest of @notion.com content) is a bit later than usual not because something happened to make it so, but because there was sooooooo much content to go through. You'll need to set time aside to go through it all!

If you find your Notion workspace feels like a big mess are you guilty of this 👇

Putting things in the wrong spot, "just for now"

I can help you with:

👷🏻‍♀️ Building a custom Notion workspace
👩🏻‍⚕️ Fixing a template you bought that isn't quite right
👩🏻‍🏫 Teaching you (or your team) how to make the most of Notion.

Mine will follow through if it's a book they're highly interested in (so, sweet stuff) and super simple.

We discovered the Simplissime series and it's pretty good. There's English versions too.

I'm sending thank you emails and Gmail keeps warning me.

I understand this in the context of receiving emails, but since all emails I write are outside my own organisation (I'm a one person business), it seems over the top.

Would any tech people know how to deactivate this?

Hey @amyrogers.design ! What do you think of my new look?

I absolutely adore the earrings you made me 🤩 A huge thank you from across the pond.

I'm in the mood to build a DIY advent calendar for the kids this year 🎅🏻

It's full of activities we do most years and it helps me plan for all the tiny traditions we've accumulated over time.

Would anybody else find this template useful?

Thanks to the new @notion.com Marketplace, I just found out that this little template I built earlier this year, promoted maybe once or twice and forgot about, gets close to 500 downloads each month 🤯

Maybe it's time I dig it back out and talk about it more?

My partner was tired of all the poo on our balcony from our ladies visiting us in the mornings.

So he put up a gate. No more visits from Janet while I drink my coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️

Getting my weekly newsletter ready means diving into popular Reddit chats.

It's one of the most interesting parts of writing Spells for Systems. I discover new perspectives and new ways of doing things with Notion.

I did a @notion.com workshop today and I didn't use any slides 😳

It was so much smoother than the back-and-forth I used to do between Canva slides and showing my workspace.

It was also much easier to improvise and answer questions by showing how to get to the solution without switching apps.

Tell me you like to lift heavy things without telling me...

I'm still working out the best way to record my workouts in Notion and haven't quite got it right. If anyone's got a good template, especially if it's kettlebells related, please let me know.

I'm not, like, super obsessed with my chickens, but I did just cook them eggs and added oats for a late afternoon snack because it's raining and a bit colder.

Meanwhile, my kids, my partner and I are having take-away because I can't be bothered to cook 🤷🏻‍♀️

If your systems feel like they don't work, it doesn't always mean they're bad.

It could be that, like my kids, you forgot to put things back where they belong.

When things feel messy maybe start by picking up the pieces and putting them where they belong instead of throwing your whole system out?
