Bad potter, slow hiker, love animals or all kinds including cats, sometimes plant trees, local member of a Strong Towns group
Plant a native tree. Every yard should have at least one. Once established, native trees will take care of themselves. Share your local tree planting organization's name below. I like California Releaf - easy planting instructions and links to planting groups. #Trees #ClimateChange #YouCanDoIt

Here's more nonsense from CA District 5 Tommy McClintock.
Does that include the money going to Elon Musk's SpaceX, Tesla and others? He's been paid over 20 billion dollars by taxpayers. Worth it? No

Those poor saps in CA District 5 are represented by Tom McClintock and have been for many, many, many years. Let's see what the poor fool has lied about recently.

How to get your Senator or Representative to listen. 1. Call them every day. Give your zip code. Clearly and concisely state your praise, ask, or complaint. and 2. Visit their offices.

Advice from a Senate staffer.

Stay focused on what's important. Drug prices rising is important. "Renaming" stuff can just be ignored. Ask anyone Magats who McKinley was and watch them be unable to answer. #executiveorders

Employees should start billing their employer a mandatory 3% surcharge on wages to keep up with increased costs of RTO, rent, or insurance.

Any multi-billionaires want to build a discarded tire burning facility near the intersection of S Ocean Blvd and highway 98? Or maybe a big off shore wind energy farm? Maybe some mere millionaires want to partner up?

And it’s worth watching the CNN report with the excellent Clarissa Ward who interviewed women celebrating in Damascus. No hijabs in sight. Ward previously had to wear a hijab in her reports from the area. Lots of excitement for a modern Syria emerging.

In depth analysis/reporting from accurate sources. Yes please.
1. In April 2024, California raised the minimum wage for fast food chains to $20/hour

The industry claimed it would be devastating & require significant job cuts and prices increases

Here is what really happened: workers got a raise, prices went modestly, and the industry continued to add jobs
What really happened after California raised its minimum wage to $20 for fast food workers
What would happen to the fast food industry if it had to pay its workers something closer to a living wage?

Today would have been Shirley Chisholm's 100th birthday. First Black woman ever elected to congress. I just love her official portrait by Kadir Nelson.

Sadly, these trees for tomorrow only lasted 30 years. Burned in 1981 and then again in the 2022 Caldor fire in the Eldorado National Forest. #trees #environment #wildfire
