That should read “whoever it was was wrong.” FFS Bluesky, get an edit feature in here. If Mastodon can do it, so can you
Who was it who was saying not so long ago that the 3 relegated teams from the Prem were the worst bunch to grace the 2nd tier? Well whoever it was wrong, bigly wrong

I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking about Hitler’s Olympics in 1936.

Who knew curling used to be big in Buxton? This photo from 1906 shows the specially built rink in the Pavilion Gardens, complete with lighting so it could be used after dark. In the same year Buxton Curling Club had 75 members.

50 years ago today, Aston Villa roll into town for the first time since 1966 for an entertaining 1-1 draw. It's also notable for being the last time that a TV audience will see the old Butler Street stand in its original form. Fate is soon to be intervening at the Victoria Ground… #SCFC

If I was being unfair, I would think it's a bit condescending.
(How clever of me to notice, I know)
Great record, though.

More of his songwriting qualites will feature in future Late Shows. But he's on now playing slick and simple and tasteful and excellent guitar on Time Is Tight.

Cos it's a rocking little record I want my jockey to play. And it was in the charts this week in 1973, which was , indeed, a very good year.

Happy 45th birthday to Do Nothing by The Specials as well - like The Beat's Too Nice to Talk To, it was released on this day in 1980. Both bands appeared on the same edition of #TOTP and swapped bassists for a laugh. Top knitwear choices

Reports coming in that groundbreaking Japanese musician Tetsu Yamauchi has died...

The bass player joined Free, before being coaxed to the Faces - a cult hero in 70s rock who later retired to a quiet life in the Japanese countryside.
