gregg araki, my heart. catching up with some of his work and I can't put into words how much this touches me. maybe it's the music, which i love so dearly...pale saints and red house painters are just to die for.

I took some time last week to rework my website for a less corporate-core look. This is way closer to my vision and i will expand on it for a nice hyper link garden in the coming months.

I fucking love the double exposure shots in A:E. It is a great device to create almost expressionist framing. More pls.

Ok ...wow. Alien Resurrection kicks 10 times as much ass. That movie was so much fun. Such a surprise.

Again watching obscure, forgotten movies instead of catching up with the stuff i should watch. NIGHTBREED was surprisingly charming for such a trashy film. Also to see David Cronenberg acting was great! Costumes and FX done with so much love. I love this era.

how did this era of games manage to be so grimy

Also happy to have the ending close a loop to ALL OF US STRANGERS. As both movies end with an above shot zooming out into darkness. And this actually made me realize how similar both movies are.

watching Gregg Araki's MYSTERIOUS SKIN (2004). Hearing Slowdive & Cocteau Twins songs in it struck me like a lightning bolt. Also Harold Budds and Robin Guthrie's soundtrack fits so beautifully well.

This Album is the perfect balance between ambient and shoegaze. What a find.

Until the End of the World (5h Directors Cut) by Wim Winders is like a Cronenberg without the violence in all the best ways. I highly recommend this gem.

(me, a baker) hundreds of surplus fps, atmospheric global illumination, runs on old hardware and is therefore more accessible, no jittery ghosting

Listening to Maria Somerville's NTS morning show for a while now. It was amazing seeing her live and as a positive surprise even more shoegazy than expected.
