Her Espeon has the very fancy name of Rupert Rudolf Ruby but she just calls it Ruru for short! This is @graceisprettygreat suggestion as the name for her and Junpei's cat in an old pet fic of mine and we thought it'd be cute to have it here too (even if it doesn't make as much sense for her to reference rupert sheldrake as a kid haha morphogenetically compelled pokemon nickname) It was given to her as an Eevee by her parents when she was young, and is from the same litter as Aoi's which is a shiny that later evolves into an Umbreon. Espeon's pokedex reads that "It awakens its precognitive abilities in order to protect its trainer from harm" Say hi to June the Gothorita!!! She is a stand-in for the doll Junpei gives her but her entire line lines up perfectly with Akane in different stages of her life! Gothita's are known as younglings who stare off into empty space seeing something only they can see, like Akane during the fng and it could cause her to wander off too. Then Gothorita's are said to kidnap people for a night in order to not feel lonely, so that is two psychic types in her team that match her criminal profile. And Gothitelle famously sees its trainer's death marked in the stars, I imagine it ages alongside Akane so that would be the only one she still has at around the time of VLR, still there for her as her Jumpydoll after all the years even though they both know the end is coming.. - The Pyukumuku is named Bnubble because it's silly and cute, we looked at all the bunny pokemon we could give them and I thought it would be nice to have it be the sea bunny/cucumber plus the logic we were using was somewhat diagetic and thought it'd be nice for her to have a Water type with built-in sunscreen and status condition healing, so yeah this is the sole survivor of the whole incident and I imagine Akane has tons of pyukumuku merch the unconventionally cuteness of it really fits her vibe better than like bunearies imo - Tenchū the ghost-type Oricorio! She needed at least one ghost and its pokedex says "It summons the dead with its dreamy dancing. From their malice, it draws power with which to curse its enemies" which is so much more metal than I was expecting from this bird and I fell in love with the idea of that for her as soon as I read it lol I also really like how it is a tradicional japanese dance style because ever since I read a couple of her design notes in ztd I just headcanon that she latches onto her cultural identity a bit more than other characters. The name is intended to both evoke chuu chuu as in the bird onomatopeia in Japanese, with that as what Akane calls it while putting up a front while the full name means something like Divine Retribution or Heaven's Punishment. Akane would get a kick of this naming convention
