This is after several police + fbi background checks. It is so difficult to get armed in nyc, even as a person with the time, energy, and resources to do so. I balk at anyone saying the nyc firearm restrictions arent harsh enough when its literally the strictest district in the country.

I went to pick up a pistol the other day, after a training course, 6 month interview process, and $1k in fees, and was told I need to complete two more steps and wait 4 weeks to buy ammo. Every single part of the pistol is regulated. Want a scope? New application. Lights? Another application. Nuts!
