my suggestion would be to explore it and see how it works. Maybe just write a smaller short story or something that can be set aside and cut out. Feel out the shape of it and see if it sounds good, adds to the character or fails them or it's just a miss.

How does the character in question interact/live/survive/thrive in the world, what hardships and adapts have they made?

because healed for someone who is disabled can mean something radically different from someone who isn't and radically different for someone writing it as the world builder.

I guess I'd ask Who are they disabled and what is this life like before being disabled vs whatever the healing does. Is the character being healed to function in the world the same as everyone else or healed from their injuries to continue life if a different way or something else all together.
