I have an overpowering urge to photoshop a 3ds max screen onto the solar system device BUT I will not give into it.

..but equally the appeal is that it looks and feels like it's from something bigger, without ever having to be anything other than a short clip.

Horror works well within these parameters, because the atmosphere & visuals have a visceral impact, but it's still an empty vessel (to me at least).

I have seen some of those. I get the appeal of them, I really do but personally, they leave me cold. You're right, you would never traditionally go to the effort it would take, especially for a 10-20 second video...

I haven't encountered that yet. I just keep seeing "Woah I can't believe how far this tech has come! Scary times!?!" and it's a video/animated version of their artwork, that doesn't do anything other than move.

If you can’t trust what you get back from it, I would argue it’s terrible at everything

I have had depressing conversations with multiple friends (all in their 40s) who have thrown away ‘broken’ power leads, kettles, toasters, even whole televisions, without checking the fuses 😔

The text and the images do not match at all. It shows the front of the plug removed rather than the back (which also messes up the left and right notation) and the images show the neutral and earth wires connected to the wrong pins. Also, this plug has no fuse

Right!? Even the worst thing created by a person had their idea behind it. All of this stuff is a thin veneer of polish over less than nothing.
