And you don't have to put this on, because I don't wanna embarrass you, and I'm sure you're not- you have a great- I think you have a great, new leader, frankly, who's the young woman that's leading your whole enterprise is a great- - from what I know. I don't know her, but I hear she's a great person. But 60 Minutes was forced to pay me- a lot of money because they took her answer out that was so bad, it was election-changing, two nights before the election. And they put a new answer in. And they paid me a lot of money for that. You can't have fake news. You've gotta have legit news. And I think that it's happening. I see- NORAH O'DONNELL: Mr. President- PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: -I see good things happening in the news. I really do. And I think one of the best things to happen is this show and new ownership, CBS and new ownership. I think it's the greatest thing that's happened in a long time to a free and open and good press.

olofahere Do not punish the behaviour you want to see I mean, it seems pretty obvious when you put it like that, right? But how many families, when an introvert sibling or child makes an effort to socialize, snarkily say, "So, you've decided to join us"? Or when someone does something they've had trouble doing, say, "Why can't you do that al/ the time?" (Happened to me, too often.) Or any sentence containing the word "finally". If someone makes a step, a small step, in a direction you want to encourage, encourage it. Don't complain about how it's not enough. Don't bring up previous stuff. Encourage it. Because I swear to f cking god there is nothing more soul-killing, more motivation-crushing, than struggling to succeed and finding out that success and failure are both punished.

I don't have many celeb encounters. But, I remember meeting Greg Berger, who played Cornfed on Duckman at the San Diego Comic-Con back when the show was on, and he just seemed like a really nice, cheery dude. I have a signed variant of this around here, somewhere.

It is sometimes considered gauche, in the world of American political commentary, to give words the weight of their meaning. As this thinking goes, there might be real belief, somewhere, in the provocations of our pundits, but much of it is just performance, and it doesn't seem fair to condemn someone for the skill of putting on a good show.
