Jesus people are at CU Boulder today with their guitars and JESUS SAVES signs. I was content to walk by and ignore them, but some lady tried to hand me something. I told her to fuck off. She seemed shocked and offended, as though she’s entitled to respect. Is “fuck off” not the default setting?

It is looking more and more likely that the U.S. military murdered some innocent fishermen in the Caribbean. True or not, it is crystal clear that the White House is threatening anyone, be they journalists or world leaders, that dares push for the truth.

Charlie Kirk was a vile person. He was a white nationalist, a misogynist, a homophobe, and a willful perverter of Christian principles as far as the plain words of Jesus seem to indicate. No one deserves to be murdered for their beliefs, but being murdered doesn’t make vile beliefs less vile.

As a student at CU Boulder I make it a point to make anti-choice Christian fascists feel as unwelcome and uncomfortable as I possibly can. Yes we have free speech zones and I’m using it to tell you to fuck off.

With precious few exceptions, the U.S. government has always hated queer people. As a queer person if you interact with the government assuming it means the worst for you, you can achieve the best for yourself. In ways, Pride month is like armor.

Pride exists because being LGBTQ+ in society is dangerous. It exists because queer couples holding hands, buying a home, searching for employment, or raising children face threats that heterosexual couples do not. Pride is an act of defiance and courage in an unjust realm of tyrants.
